ABOUT AQUATIC REFLEX AND STRETCH:
This work has its origins in a combination of Integrative Reflexology® and the fundamentals learned as a Watsu® practitioner. The recipient is floating in a warm-water pool, supported by comfortable cushions. In this relaxing state, the practitioner provides gentle stretches and works the reflexology points of the hands and feet. The overall effect is a blissfully relaxing experience. Aquatic Reflex and stretch is a modality that you can share with your clients, family and friends.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Principles of the aquatic environment, including buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure and temperature
Principles of Integrative Reflexology® and the four-theory approach
Reflexology points on the hands and feet
Meridians on the hands and feet
General and aquatic cautions and contraindications
A complete General Aquatic Reflex Session protocol
A complete Aquatic Reflex and Stretch Session protocol, including Meridian Stretches and points
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING:
1 robe if you get chilled easily
Ellen Brady is a graduate of Oneonta State University in New York. She received her certificate in massage therapy at Horry–Georgetown Technical College in 2003, where she taught from 2006-2007. She is nationally certified as a massage therapist (BCTMB) and also as a Nationally Certified Medical Massage Therapist (NCMMT). She is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and certified in Nurturing the Mother® Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage, Integrative Reflexology® and Lymphatic Massage for Detoxification. Ellen is the owner of Mother Earth Day Spa in Myrtle Beach, SC and is a Watsu® provider. She is a licensed massage therapist in South Carolina (#3796) and North Carolina (#13226).
Besides teaching for Claire Marie Miller Seminars, Inc., Ellen taught massage therapy as an instructor at Miller-Motte Technical College located in Conway, SC from 2010-2012.
